A fabulous pair of cherner arm chairs, originally designed by Norman Cherner for Plycraft in 1958, these particular chairs date around the late 90s.
Finished in black satin they do have signs of wear to the finish only; both chars are sound in construction.
The 1958 moulded plywood armchair by Norman Cherner is a mid-century classic and is illustrated in many design books including 1000 Chairs by Charlot and Peter Fiell (Page 256) and found in design collections worldwide.
The chair has been reissued and is still in production produced to exacting detail from the original drawings and moulds.
Produced by Benjamin and Thomas Cherner, sons of the original designer the chairs currently retail at £1100.00 each.
